About Us

Mylene's Munchies is a Filipino bakery based in Henfield, West Sussex. We bake filipino food and deliver to Brighton, Worthing, Haywards Heath and Burgess Hill. We can also send some of our aked goodies by courier to England and the rest of the UK.

We are a husband and wife team - a nurse from Pampanga in the Philippines and British husband who is a food safety lecturer and former restauranteur - now based in the countryside on the West Sussex/East Sussex border.

We bake filipino snacks - merienda - and baked pastries (like pan de coco, ensaymadas, and Spanish bread) as well as savoury food like pancit palabok (seafood noodles), sisig (a fried chopped pork dish), and lumpiang sariwa ((fresh wrapped pancakes), as well as cured meats like longaniza (chorizo-style sausauge), and tocino (Filipino bacon).

It all started when I was asked to cook some food for a Burgess Hill British-Filipino basketball match. We cooked and took cassava cake, rice cake, some drinks and a few other pieces. Little did I know that was the beginning of Mylene’s Munchies. 

After that we honed a variety of different baked good - slowly getting ensaymadas just right, or going from just hopia baboy to adding mungo hopia and (once we had perfected our ube halaya!) ube hopia too.

Over three disciplines - steaming, baking, and frying - we have over 31 products we are confident we’ve got good enough at to sell. From enriched caramel-filled Spanish bread to light and crispy chicharon through to light and fluffy steamed sio pao.

We deliver freshly baked food locally through Sussex, and can deliver food by next-day courier throughout England and the rest of the UK. We bake to order, and we sell the day we bake - we don’t hold stock or fill shelves - just cook then deliver!
